Creating An Interactive Space

When Conservation International approached Free Range Studios about redesigning their homepage, we looked at it as a challenge of strategy as much as that of design. We made it our goal to design a space that users could explore, leading them to as much content as possible throughout the site while also creating a clean, cinematic experience. The main image area rotates, while a blurred version of the photo rotates with it to provide a widescreen feel to the page. The dropdown menus on the page add to this effect, featuring enticing imagery related to each key issue Conservation International spotlights.

The center section of the page features multiple points of entry, featuring expanding and rotating areas of content for users to explore. Users can click the "explore more" or "see more" buttons on the media and spotlight areas to see more information expanded on the homepage, turning the page into an area to explore without even leaving the front page.
